Flatirons Terrace GroundbreakingGolden West broke ground on Flatirons Terrace in 2006 to meet the growing need in Boulder for market-rate independent living for seniors. Flatirons Terrace opened in March 2008.  Founded by the First Christian Church in Boulder, Golden West opened 115 independent living apartments in an 11-story building in 1965. Since then, Golden West has opened The Towers, The Mezzanine, and Flatirons Terrace, its newest independent living community. Golden West has sought to provide a variety of superior living options for seniors in the Boulder community. Over the years, it has become a strong hub of community and kinship for both residents and staff. With only three executive directors during its 40+ years of existence, the leadership at Golden West consistently delivers. It remains a leader in providing worthwhile living options and a community culture like no other.
