Historical
Boulder’s history is rich and available for residents of Flatirons Terrace to explore or contribute to. Boulder City Town Company was founded in 1859 on the heels of the gold rush to Colorado set off by gold discoveries toward Denver. Pioneers set up and the mouth of Boulder Canyon before branching into various canyons west of town in search of gold and silver. Many of the old mining towns still exist and give a glimpse of what life was 150 years ago. Capturing all this history, and bringing it to life with several free programs each month is the Boulder History Museum, always looking for senior volunteers to help keep its mission fulfilled.
